Boiler Feed Water Treatment Project for a Thermal Power Plant in China

Project Overview

The plant uses surface water to produce demineralized boiler make-up water. Clarification, filtration, ultrafiltration, BWRO, and EDI are combined to control suspended solids, dissolved salts, and residual ions.

KC-BW-FR8040 membrane elements are installed in the BWRO section to maintain stable permeate flow and high salt rejection under continuous power plant operation.

RO System Parameters

The BWRO section includes two parallel trains, each using a 24:12 two-stage array with 6 KC-BW-FR8040 elements per pressure vessel. The system contains 216 elements per train and 432 elements in total.

The design flux is approximately 19.0 LMH, with a 75% recovery rate, an operating pressure of 0.8–1.1 MPa, and a system salt rejection of approximately 99.3%.

Each train produces approximately 153 m³/h of permeate. The combined design capacity is approximately 305 m³/h, equivalent to about 7,330 m³/day.
