Process Water Treatment Project for a Food Factory in China

Project Overview

A food processing plant in China uses municipal tap water to produce purified water for ingredient preparation, equipment rinsing, and general production processes.

The treatment system removes residual chlorine, hardness, and dissolved salts before the water enters the production area. KC-ULP-8040 membrane elements provide stable desalination at a relatively low operating pressure, helping reduce the energy demand of continuous operation.

Water used in food production, cleaning, packaging, or equipment contact requires consistent purification and disinfection because it can directly affect product safety and production reliability.

RO System Parameters

The RO system uses an 8:4 two-stage array, with 6 KC-ULP-8040 elements per pressure vessel. The system contains 12 pressure vessels and 72 membrane elements in total.

It operates at approximately 18.0 LMH, with a 75% recovery rate, an operating pressure of 0.55–0.80 MPa, and a system salt rejection of approximately 99.2%.

The designed permeate capacity is approximately 48 m³/h, equivalent to about 1,150 m³/day.
